Question by Secular Libertarian: What collar worker would the police or military be considered?
I looked on wikipedia & they only have several collared workers that only cover some jobs.

But what type of collared worker would a police officer or a soldier be?

Why don’t they have more colored collars for the different jobs?

Or what collar would a celebrity or politician be?

Police are considered blue collar. The military is camo-collar. Celebrities and politicians are white collar.

Military: blue collar. Some people could argue that an officer in a desk job is white collar.

Celebrity and politicians are white collar.

Blue collar is basically physical labor, as opposed to paper pushing that white collar people do.

  • Veela Leela says:

Uniformed police would be blue collar, detectives and management would be white collar.
If your job requires physical labor–truck drivers, plumbers, electricians and the like…it is blue
    collar.
If your job is paperwork or technology…accountants, all management, technical engineers,
computer programmers, and the like….it is white collar.
It came from the way people dressed in the early 20th century. Physical people often wore a
blue shirt and trousers (easier to keep clean) and office workers wore a white shirt and trousers.
Blue collar usually pays better than white collar, and are often private contractors.
The other designation is unskilled labor who gets paid the least of all.
